- 80-90 days This is a highly productive heirloom from Iraq that was introduced to the United States by seed collector Aziz Nael in the 1990s. The extremely sweet bright red flesh is crisp but melts in your mouth, has few seeds and the watermelons grow in a consistent oblong shape. Bubblegum like flavor. Highly adaptable, will grow smaller in colder climates, but we get consistent 25-30 lb melons here in Michigan and the vines usually continue to produce later than other varieties as well. Good storage and transport quality with thick rind. Highly resistant to drought and sun scalding. Early for a larger melon.
