- 75-80 days This is a staple variety for the north. Maturing very early with high yields of consistent 5-10 lb melons. We often find groups of fruits growing adjacent to each other. The flesh is sweet with rich flavor and with a crisp and delicate texture. We love the seeds of this variety, they are crunchy, but very tender and compliment the flesh well. A true refreshing treat for a hot summer day. Developed in 1977 by Glenn Drowns in northern Idaho. Excellent for areas with high temperature fluctuations. They handle hot days and cool nights exceptionally well for watermelons. –
