But they have a flavor unlike any other and some say the best flavor of all watermelons. These melons are dense and resistant to hollow heart unlike silver Yamato. They grow larger but some will be small. 4-12 lbs. the flavor is mind blowing. Sweet, creamy and citrusy with notes of Asian pear and tropical fruit. Flavor lingers on the tongue. Refreshing. We have selected for compact vines, early maturity and superb flavor. Rind less susceptible to splitting than Yamato but still not suitable for shipping. Random Open pollination from the compost pile. Quickly became a staple on the farm and always fun to show off these incredibly melons.
