- 95 days. An adaptation of the old black Spanish heirloom. These glossy dark green melons reach 40-50 lbs and have a desirable crimson red flesh that is crisp and very sweet. Excellent holding and shipping quality. Good yields for field production. Developed in Arkansas in the 1950s by seed expert Melville Dillon and has ties to the extinct black Spanish heirloom from the early 19th century.
