- 90 days. Pear shaped squash are bright orange with beautiful dark green striping. Stunning colors. They average 5 lbs but some get bigger. The flesh has other worldly flavor. Buttery, nutty and very sweet. Simply one of the best. Certain seed purveyors have made this out to be a true Native American heirloom but the original seed is documented as having been grown at Fort Atkinson in Nebraska in the 1820s. Making this still a rather old historical heirloom.
