- 80 days. We have adapted this legendary Variety for mature more quickly and set fruit more heavily. The fruits are green and slightly netted ripening to a bright yellow to green color. The flesh is so juicy and sweet. Flavor unique to its own. One of the best tasting melons and one of our favorites. Another staple in the farm. Originates from Spain. Similar melons were possibly grown in Roman occupied Spain. This melon has roots that possibly date back thousands of years. Sinilar varieties are an ill widely cultivated in Spain but Piel de Sapo is Nearly lost due to hybridization.
