- 100 days. Beautiful small warted squash that is ornamental and useful in the kitchen! The flesh is fruity sweet with a delicate smooth texture. Extremely productive sprawling vines. We wait until the foliage dies off and harvest the bounty. Turns orange as they ripen. Moderate storage, gets even sweeter after a month or so of curing. Believed to have originated from New World squash introduced to Japan by Portuguese explorers in the 16th century.
